DESIGN PORTFOLIO
JENNA KAYLYN DICKENSHEETS
Hey, I'm Jenna,
I'm a recently graduated student designer from Southwest Career and Technical Academy where I was an active member of National Honor Society and the Family Community Career Leaders of America. My experience with both Graphic and Interior Design led to the discovery of my passion for environmental/sustainable design as well as digital communications.
I've studied under the guidance of Andrea Miranda Hall of Inspired Designs and have worked within the Las Vegas World Market Center as a design assistant. This fall I will be attending Grand Canyon University as an Honors student to study Graphic Design and Advertising with a minor in Communications, but for now, I take things one day at a time and pursue every design opportunity that comes my way.
What is Creativity?
Creativity is the ability to engage in innovative solutions, find potential in the dullest of observations, and have the courage to make bring your wildest concept to life. Unlike most, I don't view the ability to "think outside the box" as simply being creative. True creativity is demonstrated by being able to find new alcoves of inspiration within the constraints of the usual ideas. This is not to say that I believe in sticking to the same mass-produced concepts of aesthetics, rather I believe that a true creator can take those concepts and reinvent them to make them new. Creativity is more than a want to add interest to a dull space, it is the bravery to stand out and bring ideas from paper into reality.
Therefore I will never be one coloring outside the lines, instead, I fill the spaces with patterns, textures, and the other hidden treasures that others fail to see.
